What a Difference a BOOK Makes

Did you know that according to the Children’s Literacy Foundation only one book is available to every 300 children in low-income neighborhoods? Compare that to middle-income children who own an average of 13 books each.

The gift of literacy enables children to gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in school and in life. CCRC is committed to helping give our community’s children a bright start.

In 2019, CCRC will collect and distribute 100,000 children’s books to kids within our 22,500 square mile service area. This task is exciting but also quite daunting and we need your help to be successful. This year we celebrate 10 years and the distribution of 1,000,000 books.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate new or gently used English and Spanish children’s books (ages 0-13)
  • Make a tax deductible donation
  • Hold a book drive
  • Feature CCRC’s What a Difference a BOOK Makes campaign on your website
