[Annex] TIC Module 1: Early Brain Development

In Module 1: Early Brain Development: Understanding the Stress Response, Regulatory, and Sensory Systems, child care providers will gain a brief overview of brain and early development. We will discuss the role of the regulation and sensory systems in children who have experienced trauma and how the relationships and attachments formed with providers can have a meaningful impact on development.

In this training, we will discuss topics such as:

  1. Understanding healthy brain development.
  2. The need for consistent, attuned caregiving and the healing functions of relationships.
  3. Development of the stress response system.
