Schools out and the kids are free. Unfortunately parents, summer break does not apply for you. CCRC understands that the beautiful and sunny months, often leave parents at a lost on affordable activities to provide for their children. Worry not, we have just the thing for you!
Join us every Tuesday from 10:00-11:30 am during the months of June and July for free Summer Blast Activities! All of our Book, Toy and Resource Libraries will be hosting weekly activities ranging from story time, bubble making, water play, face painting and even a hula hoop contest!
We encourage learning through play, as a tool to expand children’s way of thinking. Play is the primary means by which children grow and develop in all areas of their lives, regardless of their abilities. Through play, children develop their bodies, language and literacy, problem-solving and cognitive skills, understanding of emotions, and how to get along with others. Children are better prepared for success in school and later in life when provided with opportunities for developmentally appropriate, safe and enjoyable play.
“With this program, kids get the amazing opportunity to explore and socialize and that’s already fun. Children gravitate to the library, because the see all the wonderment and the opportunities that they don’t normally get at home or even in their community, we are happy to provide this service.” Chatsworth Resource & Referral Specialist, Louise Garnica.
Summer Blast Activities are caregiver/parent child activities. This is not a drop-off program. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. And did we mention, all classes are free!
