We gave away a Jeep... And, Marilyn won it! Marilyn Torres knows how important child care is to a struggling family. She utilized CCRC’s child care financial assistance services while she attended college and obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work. Marilyn is now a mental health therapist working with children. In August of 2016, she received an e-mail from CCRC offering her the opportunity to win a brand new car! Even though Marilyn didn’t have a lot of extra money to spend, she wanted to give back to the agency that helped her when she needed it. So, she bought ONE raffle ticket and didn’t expect to hear anything else about it. I mean, who really wins those car raffles anyway? On Saturday, September 16th, though, CCRC’s President & CEO Mike Olenick, did pick a winner. And he picked Marilyn’s raffle ticket out of hundreds of entries. She wasn’t able to attend the gala event but she sure was crying happy tears when we called her on Monday morning! It was such a pleasure for us to hand the Jeep Renegade keys over to her and her family ! 1994 Awarded our first Head Start contract to serve 300 children in the San Fernando Valley 4 ccrcca.org
