Module 2: How Trauma Impacts Development: Part 2 (CDL): This module will focus on how trauma impacts development and how the stress response system activates in children 0-5. You’ll also learn about the lifelong impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences.

Emergency Preparedness: Get ready with the Red Cross! Learn the action steps that can make a difference: 1) Get a Kit, 2) Make a Plan, and 3) Be Informed.
Dates: August 4th, 2020 (6:30pm – 8:30pm)
LA County: California Child Care Preventive Health & Safety: Participants must attend all three EMSA approved sessions to meet the 8-hour requirement. Instructors will go over a) immunization requirements and best practices for preventing the spread of infectious diseases b) safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries and c) nutrition laws and regulations for child care programs.

Health and Safety in Child Care Settings during the COVID-19 Pandemic:
Learn how to slow the spread of Covid-19 by promoting healthy practices, properly disinfecting and enforcing physical distancing as described by Community Care Licensing, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Department of Public Health.

Positive Social-Emotional Development in Children: Recognize appropriate behavior based on accurate expectations of child development and support social emotional growth through positive role-modeling and relationships.

Safe Sleep, Safe Baby: Learn to identify the best practices for infant sleeping and
to enforce a policy that promotes a safe and healthy sleep environment for infants. Dates: August 25th, 2020, (9:00am – 11:00am)
Infant Meal Patterns: Discover how to enhance the overall nutritional quality of meals for infants and how to support breastfeeding in your facility.
Dates: August 27th, 2020, (9:00am – 11:00am)
