Message from the President & CEO
Dear Friends and Supporters,
The past year took us all through many unexpected turns as we navigated an unprecedented pandemic and so this annual report, as well, looks a little different than years past. Since we are all a little more familiar with the virtual world now, please explore the videos, images and links included in this interactive report.
Entering the spring of 2020, the world as we knew it underwent a dark and dramatic change. Like so many other businesses and organizations, Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) had
to adjust quickly. But unique among many employers across southern California and even nationwide, we are proud to report we did not
lay off any of our agency’s 1,000 employees due to the pandemic. Instead, the majority of our dedicated team transitioned to remote work, never faltering in our mission of strengthening families and our community. In addition to the 50,000 children, families and care providers we usually serve, we increased our case load by 10% as we secured child care for more than 6,100 additional children of essential workers.
This shift in the workplace was mirrored in the economy and many of our most vulnerable neighbors needed help, driving the demand for CCRC services and support. With the perseverance of our staff, Board of Directors, and generosity of community partners and donors, we answered that call for help
by distributing tens of thousands
of food, clothing and personal protection items, as well as critical and timely information.
