The Research Department sincerely thanks the parents from the 2013-2014 Head Start Program for their time and participation in completing the Head Start End-of-the-Year Parent Survey. The Research Department appreciates the Head Start staff for their assistance in coordinating the distribution and collection of surveys, as well as their commitment and service. The Research Department also recognizes the assistance of the Head Start teachers whose consistent dedication and trust encouraged parents to take part in this survey and thanks Josué Guajan Orellana, Business & Community Development Associate for providing photographs used throughout this report.
NOTES ON READING THIS REPORT
 Parents received a survey in either Spanish or English, depending on the language that was designated as their primary language. The term “English-speaking parent” refers to parents who received and returned the survey in English. Likewise, the term “Spanish-speaking parent” refers to parents who received and returned the survey in Spanish.
 The findings include numbers and percentages of parents who completed the survey, as well as differences and similarities between and within English and Spanish-speaking parents. Results are also presented by each Head Start Center.
 Open-ended responses provided by parents are presented throughout the report.
 For the ease of reading, percentages have been rounded to the nearest tenth and are
displayed in tables or charts.
 Italicized wording indicates a direct question or response from the Head Start End-of-the Year Parent Survey, unless otherwise noted.
 Results that may be of a particular interest are presented throughout the report in blue boxes.
 See the Appendix for additional tables and information.
 Copies of the English and Spanish versions of the Head Start End-of-Year Parent Survey
are included at the end of this report.
