Page 84 - PROGRAM IMPACT AND SATIFACTION AS SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF HEAD START PARENTS
P. 84

Figure 17: Zine: What can be done to improve the Head Start program?
 My kid learned, is talking more, and writing.
 Great program!
 I think the Head Start program is really good the way it is.
 I think the hours are too short. They could at least be long enough for parents working a part time
job.
 In my knowledge, it’s good to help children for them to get ready for their future jobs.
 To me nothing. I loved it! It has been a great experience!
 Quicker pick-up and drop-off. Less cranky and controlling over minor issues.
 Needs to accommodate English-speaking families more.
 They are doing a terrific job.
 Continue working through teamwork between staff and parents.
 The teachers put in the effort to help the students. Until now, I like the entire program for my
daughter.
 I believe you are complying with everything that is necessary.
 I'm very happy and satisfied and I don't know what else the program can do to become better.
 More help for the parents.
 I hope you don't change the teachers too often because this year my child had a minimum of three
different teachers.
 Continue participating at the school.
 Everything is amazing, well-organized and everyone is punctual. Above everything, there is full
security for the children and everybody.
 I think the program is very good.
 Everything is well-organized and one learns a lot as a parent.
 For me it was excellent. Thank you. I saw my daughter improve.
 Read, write, count, share things and books and toys.
 Open more centers and classrooms to help families especially in the area of Lancaster and
Palmdale. My family has had difficulty.
 Pay more attention to the children. Be more patient and more understanding.
 Continue teaching about the abilities and create ideas.
 Parent workshops.
 Don't change teachers so often and don't change the children from their classroom.
 I like that there's a lot of communication about my child and his progress in class. I feel happy.
 More classes
 Help the classroom and be a volunteer.
 Schedule meetings during the afternoon or evening.
 Everything is good. Congratulations.
 I like how the program is currently.
 More hours in the classroom.
