P. 88

Figure 21: Cohasset: What did you like BEST about the Head Start program?
 The care, warmth, and comfort. Like a family.
 The teachers.
 Child-to-child and child-to-teacher interaction.
 Head Start offers a variety of activities and helps support children and parents.
 The encouragement my child feels. My child enjoyed getting ready for school and attending the
program.
 Parent involvement and the sense that you make children and parents a priority. Thank you for
making us feel our voices matter and actually listen to our concerns. Amazing teachers!
Awesome program!
 That you allow us to become more involved in the education of our children.
 Absolutely everything.
 I like it because my son has learned many good things.
 I like that they were given homework. That helped my child very much.
 All the values that influence the child to behave well, say "please" when asking for things, taking
turns, etc.
 This year, I like the work of Teacher Rocio; the homework that she would leave for the children
(she would personalize it for each child).
 The way in which my child has learned to get along, to say what he/she likes and what he/she
doesn't, and his/her academic development has been notable.
 The education. My child has learned a lot.
 That it’s an important program because the children learn how to share. Their abilities and what
they learn.
 That it’s an important program because the children learn how to share. Their abilities and what
they learn.
 I like everything because I have been able to notice how my child has been learning and
developing.
 Knowing that my child pronounces many words in English that he/she didn't know before.
 I like it because she now speaks English and she didn't before.
 That children are taught to interact with other children.
 That the teachers are always polite with parents and children.
