Page 67 - PROGRAM IMPACT AND SATIFACTION AS SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF HEAD START PARENTS
P. 67
Figure 1: Arthur Avila: What can be done to improve the Head Start program?
More activities for the children and parents to be involved.
Teach them kindergarten stuff, like numbers 1 to 100. If possible, also words and the colors of the
rainbow.
Teach them a similar curriculum to kindergarten.
Arthur Avila Head Start Program is fantastic! The staff is so kind and friendly. They not only
helped educate my son and me, but made us feel loved.
I wish they would give the children homework daily. This way parents could pay more attention
to the children.
Full day schedule and safety.
The Head Start program is perfect. There are learning opportunities for both the parents and
children.
Help/support parents in becoming better teachers to their children. Classes for parents to teach
their children.
Inform parents how to attend Head Start events or meetings.
Everything was good.
Try to teach the children basic reading to prepare them for kindergarten.
Have more communication with the parents.
I think there should be more teachers.
First, I think the program should be available more hours. Second, more trips with the children,
more projects, and homework. Third, keep the school personnel.
Keep the same teacher.
Keep the program as is and add more services.
Everything is great. Thank you!
The program is a great start to our children's lives. The program provides the tools for a good
beginning.
The boys and girls should have separate bathrooms.
That more parents would attend the family meetings.
I think they do a great job.
The teachers were great.
Stop wasting so much food.
