P. 69

Figure 3: Chase: What can be done to improve the Head Start program?
 In my experience, everything in the program has been great.
 Nothing, keep up the good work
 A more dedicated calendar should be provided.
 Make my son be ready for kindergarten.
 Have a little more communication with the parents.
 Have things in order with teachers.
 Have the same teachers.
 I think this Head Start is doing a great job. The teachers and staff were wonderful.
 None. They are doing amazing! Keep up the great job guys!
 Support and follow the rules.
 Support the Head Start program so that it can continue to provide resources.
 Better staff communication with parents about school and programs.
 Prepare the kids more and be consistent with getting them kindergarten ready. More educational
activities and be more consistent with homework. And always speak English.
 It would help to keep the same teacher from the beginning to the end. It causes confusion for
some kids and parents.
 I think everything is great.
 Teach the children to write complete sentences.
 Plan activities that enable the parents to become more involved in helping the teachers with daily
supervision and the children's learning.
 We need parking spaces for parents. Also, the children's goals should be handed out in Spanish as
well.
 I do not believe any changes need to be made since the program and staff are well organized.
 They should focus more on learning.
 More hours.
 Everything is great.
 Not constantly changing teachers because the children sometimes are not comfortable around new
faces.
 Participate in the education of our children at home and school.
 I think everything was great. The teachers are very nice to my daughter but they are changed too
often.
 Have the program available in more schools.
 More hours so that the children can adapt to a school setting.
 I think it would be better if there was a larger group of children per classroom.
 Adding more hours to the schedule.
 Everything works well, and the staff are well trained in teaching the students and dealing with the
families.
 Teach the children more reading and writing.
 Everything is great.
 I think the program is perfect.
 More classes during the week.
