Of the 46 (5.6%) parents who indicated that they could participate at other times during the day, an equal number of parents (17 or 37%) indicated that they preferred participating during mornings and afternoons and during afternoons and evenings. Ten parents reported that they preferred to participate during the morning and/ or evening hours. A participant indicated that he or she would become involved at any time of the day, and another commented that he or she preferred to participate during the weekends. Chart 21 illustrates these results.

  Head Start staff holds an event for parents to discuss kindergarten transition.
 Meetings, events and trainings in the morning were preferred by parents at all Head Start Centers except for parents at Napa, who preferred to participate in the afternoon.

 The Head Start parents who completed the survey were more available to participate in meetings, trainings, and events held in the morning and in Spanish.
