         Provider Trainings
CCRC offers a number of specialized trainings for providers to ensure they offer the highest quality care. Here are some of the trainings offered this spring. Check out our event calendar for more.
Positive Social-Emotional Development in Children
Focuses on promoting social and emotional development, identifies strategies for teaching children how to understand and express their emotions, and examines the role providers play in modeling these emotional reactions for children. Information will be shared in this course about free resources, books and videos for children.
Health and Safety in the Child Care Setting During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Emphasizes the guidelines for social distancing within the child care setting and explores ways to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the facility through hygiene
and disinfecting practices, among other techniques. Participants in this program have the opportunity for a live Q&A session with our health and safety experts and will receive free resources for keeping staff and children healthy.
Inclusion, Individualization, and Adaptation
Focuses on assisting children with special needs while meeting legal requirements, following developmentally appropriate practices, and recognizing opportunities for inclusion using activity adaptations and extenders.
Healthy Food, Healthy Children
Examines the Healthy Beverages in Child Care Act, Licensing Regulations, and best practices for serving healthy food options in Licensed Child Care facilities using resources and guides designed to support children’s health, growth and development. This course identifies food safety practices that reduce the risk and spread of foodborne illnesses and guides providers in developing a wellness policy that addresses nutritional and physical activity goals.
Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention
Advises providers on the steps needed to reduce the risk of exposing children in their care to lead, details the negative health effects and elevated risks of lead poisoning for children, and explains how to inspect for lead and respond to it in the child care setting.
This Lead Poisoning Prevention (LPP) training is EMSA approved and meets the requirements for new child care licenses issued on or after July 1, 2020. Participants will receive a certificate.
