Page 75 - PROGRAM IMPACT AND SATIFACTION AS SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF HEAD START PARENTS
P. 75
Figure 9: Osborne: What can be done to improve the Head Start program?
Make pick up times a little longer.
Everything is great.
More parent activities with child.
Program is great.
More activities.
Larger sized classrooms.
Provide daycare on school grounds for those parents that work and can’t be there or have
someone pick them up because they're working.
Get the kids ready for kinder. For example, teach the kids the ABCs and the sounds.
Add an extra hour of education.
Get them better prepared in reading and writing even if it's only basics.
The program is great.
I already love it.
Too many children in one class and the class schedule is very short. They are in a hurry all the
time.
Move to a bigger location. More running space for kids in the playground.
Everything is great.
I think it's great just the way it is but maybe more interaction with parents would be a nice thing.
I feel the program stresses the staff out in a way that they become all pushy toward parents.
Foods they served were healthy but I felt that my child did not eat it. Needed a little more variety.
At this time I am very happy with the way the program runs and I feel like there is always room
for improvement.
What I think what could be done to improve the program is offering the option for the kids to
attend both morning & afternoon classes for convenience to the parents with non-flexible
schedules.
To me I think you are doing a great job
Teach kids how to write more.
Keep helping parents with nutrition classes so that we can teach our children at home.
I think 3 and 4 year olds should be separated into different classrooms.
Make sure teachers are prepared to work with children.
Keep giving us information to support our children in learning the different areas and rules in the
classroom.
More communication with parents and keep them informed in the progress children are making.
Have more communication.
The program is great, nothing needs to change.
Help children more on preparing for kindergarten.
Keep being friendly and patient with children and parents
More time on academics with children.
That the workshops and meetings for parents have two sessions in a day so that more can attend.
