Activity: Explore and Enjoy The Great Outdoors with this Wildflower Activity

Wildflowers are blooming throughout California. The season calls for getting outdoors and enjoying some fresh air, along with a little physical activity. This craft encourages children to get outside and explore while learning about plants and their environment.

**Be sure to wear sunscreen!

What you need:

  • Cardboard
  • Pen
  • Yarn

جهت:

  • The parent or caregiver should select or cut a piece of cardboard that’s about the size of a piece of printer paper. Ask the child to draw a vase on the cardboard. The parent should use the pen to punch holes (about 6-8 holes) in a curved formation above the vase.
  • Guide the child through a field of flowers or backyard garden (be sure to ask permission if it’s not your property). Pick a flower for each hole on the cardboard.
  • Thread the stems of the flowers through the holes, one flower per hole.
