 Activities
  Sensational sensory tub
Children love to explore and that experience is even more fun when they search for hidden objects. Using storage tubs or Tupperware or even a baby pool, fill the container with sand or uncooked rice and hide various items in the container. The objects can be big or small and should be different colors and textures. The children can use their hands to uncover items from the sand
and then figure out what it is they uncovered. Once the children reveal a hidden object, ask them what they found, what that object is used for, and describe how it looks and feels. Some ideas for objects to hide include dice, toy cars, an orange, a string of beads, or random keys that you don’t need anymore.
Rainbow wands
Nothing adds more fun to a dance party than an exciting accessory. All you need is a pole of some
kind – consider a small stick, a pencil, or a ruler – and some multi-colored ribbons. Cut several arm-length strands of ribbon for the kids and show them how to tape the ribbon to the end of their pole. Once they’ve made their rainbow wands, pump up the music and dance! The kids can twirl and swirl their wands around, making for big flashes of color. This activity encourages kids to be active and gets the blood flowing.
