All of us at CCRC want to thank everyone who has supported our Book and Toy Drive with a donation or by hosting a collection bin at their business.
Our supporters’ generous donations allowed us to hold a giveaway event at each of our four locations on Saturday, December 10th. There was food, story time, and activities and every child was gifted a book and a toy. During this holiday season 10,000 books and toys were collected and distributed locally!
“In this season of giving, it is so important to be present and look around you. We often get lost in ourselves, in our day to day lives and forget the struggle of those right beside us.” said Susan Montalvo, CCRC’s Communications Director. “My team and I are extremely grateful to all of the generous sponsors and volunteers that helped make the holidays a little brighter for the children and families we serve. We work all year to make this happen and it is so rewarding to see a child’s face light up when they receive their gifts!” added Montalvo.
We also distributed 3,000 books and toys to children in our Head Start programs in San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley and thousands more will be distributed this week.
