Thank you to businesses that supported families through our holiday event

It takes a lot of holiday help to make CCRC’s annual Adopt a Family event come to life. Every year, we make the holidays merry and bright for thousands of children and families in our local community. We’re grateful to the local businesses that host toy collection bins on our behalf.

One business that’s hosted bins for CCRC is Grocery Outlet, which collected toys for the third year in a row.

“We know it’s not about the gift, it’s the intangible things, family – being with each other,” said Grocery Outlet Owner Christopher Herrera. “But it’s such a blessing when you’re able to give something tangible to someone, especially when it’s meaningful and purposeful. I attended a CCRC event and to see the kids light up, it just really warms you up. For me, it means a lot.”

While we were there collecting a full bin, Hererra filled another with toys courtesy of Grocery Outlet. His generosity and the support of other local businesses helps us provide a book, toy, family game and other essentials to countless local families.

“It always helps and brings smiles to kids’ faces and gives them that opportunity that may not have been afforded to them,” said one father who attended our event.

For many parents and caregivers, CCRC’s Adopt a Family event provides the only toy a child may receive during the holiday season.

“I think events like this is important, giving back to the community and people in need – especially being a spiritual man, these are the things that make people’s days. You go through ups and downs and this puts a smile on people’s faces,” said another father at the event.
